In our experience it can take a long time to get listed on Pandora - they still listen to every album submitted. Then they reject a lot. Those that they accept are then hand categorised to their 'genome' (if that's the right word!?).

We have had stuff rejected after months of waiting.

However, there's no doubting that those we have had accepted have benefited enormously from the exposure.

Of course, the fact that they listen to and reject a lot of music means that they have a quality threshold that other similar services don't have which is another ingredient in it's power.

It's worth perservering and even if you don't have a CD version. make one available through Create Space or similar and put it through Advantage. Might cost $70 - $100 to do that at the very most, but it will pay for itself many times over.

Pandora makes it sound completely easy, don't they? Until you do all of this, even for a decently successful indie project selling well on Amazon and iTunes (via our own direct account--we are not beginners), follow up several times, and said album is still not available on Pandora months later. Most of our new projects don't have a physical CD component now, anyway, an archaic requirement. This is hopefully just a faux gateway that Pandora has erected while they get their ducks in order. Until then, they cannot pretend to be interested or involved in new music discovery at all.

Yes and Yes. Joining the UK programme will give you what you need and make your CD available worldwide on Amazon.

Does anybody know - if I sign up for Amazon Advantage UK (amazon.co.uk) do my items also get listed on the US site (amazon.com)? And if not, is having the item available on amazon.co.uk enough to get onto Pandora?
